What's with Kobe's legs?

That's what I want to know. And, whatever they say, I won't believe it. They could say he had circulation problems and I wouldn't buy it. I think he's trying to showoff, somehow. Like, Hey, look at me in my stockings, still kicking your ass. That's what I bet it is. Because, why have two of them? It could be some new Nike product they're testing on him; maybe, since he's low man on the totem pole, he gets stuck with the weird stockings promotion. Lebron gets the shoes; Kobe gets hose.

I like Smush Parker. He's got a great name, he hustles, and, whenever the camera catches him, he looks completely focused. As if he's taking everything in. Very few people have that look about them. Jordan had it: with rare exception, he was almost always taking everything in. Wade has it. Gary Payton has it not at all. Even when he's in the game, he looks like he's off somewhere else. It doesn't really seem to affect his play, but he looks impressively spaced out. That or he's yelling at someone. Anyway, back to Smush. I'm encouraged by the look of him. He could blossom into the next Horace Grant. Or the next Pippen. Or some hybrid thereof. Chis Mihm is great, if he's not sucking.

The Lakers remind me of the Bulls before they were good enough to win anything. Kobe still forces things. Odom acts like he's just been passed a hand grenade whenever he gets the ball, or he forces an awkward fruitless drive, Kwame is a Ferrari that thinks he's a Camaro, and the rest are too young or inexperienced to play well for any length of time.

The Magic remind me of the old Vince Carter led Raptors. They have talent, but Francis is only so-so and he's the show. So guys like Dwight Howard will suffer from neglect, get disenchanted, and become the Darius Miles' and Kwame Brown's of tomorrow: selfish, mad, and distracted.

Fell for the League Pass. As long as you know that you won't be watching anything but the games four or five channels chose not to broadcast, you should be fine. If you have any illusions that you will be seeing some great games, you will no doubt find yourself let down.

Okay, I'm done.
